What’s involved?
A unique on-line film festival is attempting to curb the rise in sexually transmitted infections among young adults in Sydney.
The lovemakingfilmfestival is looking for films of under 3 minutes. They should be hilarious, quirky, clever, creative and help share a safe sex message!
It could be a 15 second gag filmed on your mobile phone, a 35mm bollywood style extravaganza, or a 2 minute animation masterpiece - whatever you like! There are unique categories and fantastic prizes.
Why should people do this?
Government statistics show that nearly every type of sexually transmitted infection has increased in prevalence in recent years, with the most common, chlamydia, going up by over 300 percent in the past nine years.
The people most affected by the dramatic rise are Generation Y, those people in their late teens and 20’s. Doctors estimate that one in ten people in this age group have a sexual infection.
