What’s involved?

If you’re 14 to 26 years old, and interested in climate change, Power Shift, the Australian Youth Climate Coalition’s (AYCC) conference is going to be the biggest youth conference ever seen in Australia.

It is going to be held from the 11th to the 13th July at the University of Western Sydney, Parramatta Campus. There will be speakers and panels and an action to show the government how much the youth of Australia care about climate change and its impact.

There will be various activities throughout the conference, ranging from:

  • Trainings
  • Key note speakers
  • State/ Regional Break- Outs
  • Presentations
  • Green Job Fair

Why should people do this?

It is a great opportunity to work together in teams to address policies set forward by the government and coordinate campaigns. Training courses also provide skills such as press release writing, how to speak to the media, public speaking, lobbying and leadership development.

Power Shift will feature a number of workshop streams focusing on different aspects of climate change. Check out the Panel topics. Various speakers include Deputy Prime minister Julia Gillard among others.
